Man charged after another injured in Ashford assault

A man has been charged after another was injured in a serious assault.

Police were called after a man was injured following an altercation with a group of people in Ashford last week.

The incident happened shortly after 5pm on Thursday, August 3, at the junction of Noakes Meadow and Oak Tree Road.

Officers were called to the scene alongside paramedics and the victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for treatment for multiple injuries.

Daniel Findlay, 40, was subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage of a mobile phone.

Findlay of Chart Road, Ashford, has been bailed to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Thursday 16 November.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to call 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/139331/23.
