A 45-year-old man from Ashford has been charged after allegedly shouting racist and threatening language at a woman.
Officers were called to Victoria Park, in Jemmett Road, on Sunday evening following a report a man was being abusive and directing highly offensive words towards a woman.
Paul David Hilton, of Loudon Path, was arrested following the disturbance.
He has been charged with two alleged offences: using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour; and using racially aggravated, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour.
Hilton has been released on bail and is due at Canterbury Magistrates on July 25.
