A man has been slapped with a £180 fine after refusing to leave Wetherspoons in Ashford after having one too many drinks.
Sean Rawlings, 34, was arrested for being drunk and disorderly on a night out at The County Hotel, in Lower High Street, on Thursday, June 5.
He was subsequently reported for summons for failing to leave the licensed premises when requested to do so, which is an offence under the Licensing Act 2003 and carries a maximum £200 fine.
It is also an offence to re-enter a premises after being requested to leave.
Rawlings, of Lees Road, Willesborough, was convicted at Canterbury Magistrates' Court last week, having pleaded not guilty.
In addition to being fined £185 he was also ordered to pay £80 costs.
