A28 between Ashford and Bethersden closed following crash

A man has been taken to a hospital in a serious condition after an accident on a main road.
Police shut the A28 in Ashford at the junction with Chilmington Green Road just after midday.
With both directions closed, traffic was affected between Ashford and Bethersden.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "Crews attended the scene following reports of a vehicle having left the road and a person in need of medical attention.
"One person was treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital in a serious condition."
The road reopened at about 1.55pm.
