Man taken to hospital following smash between lorry and car on A28 Ashford Road

A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital following a lorry crash on a busy route.
The accident, which occurred early this morning on the A28 in Ashford, also involved a car.
A police spokesperson said the man was taken to a London hospital for treatment.
“Kent Police was called at 7.20am on Tuesday 30 April 2024 to a report of a collision involving a car and a lorry on the A28, Ashford Road between Bethersden Road and Chilmington Green Road, Ashford,” said the spokesperson.
“Officers attended along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man in his 60s was taken to a London hospital for treatment.
“The road remains closed while crews respond to the incident.”
There are reports of heavy traffic along the route and drivers have been warned they could face delays.
