A man ended up trapped in his car after it smashed into a wall.
It happened near Ivychurch at 6.45pm yesterday.
Two fire engines, one from Folkestone and one from Lydd, were called out and firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him.
Crews gave the victim, thought to be in his early 40s, first aid and oxygen before paramedics took over his care.
They put him in a spinal board and took him to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
No other vehicles except the black Lexus was involved and the victim was alone in the car.
The road, Ashford Road between the Brenzett roundabout and Ivychurch, was closed for a short period.
Fire crews made the scene safe and left just before 8pm.
