A man tried to convince a child to get into his van.
Officers were called after the young boy was approached in Willesborough, Ashford yesterday.
The schoolboy had been walking along Osborne Road at around 4pm when the suspect approached him driving a silver van.
He then told the boy that he was a friend of his mother's, and offered him a lift home.
Thankfully, the would-be victim declined and walked away without being harmed.
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and carried out a search of the area.
"Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing".
