Police have made an arrest after a man was seen carrying a kitchen knife in the street.

Officers were called to Bybrook Road in Kennington at about 1am following reports a man was walking along the road causing a disturbance.

A kitchen knife was recovered and a 37-year-old man from Devon was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

He currently remains in custody while inquiries continue.
