Traffic was delayed by as much as an hour after a motorway crash last night.
Cars and lorries were left unable to turn a wheel on the London-bound carriageway of the M20.
This was after two cars had been in collision at about 8.45pm between Junctions 10 and 11.
One motorist said: "The accident was about two-and-a-half miles from Junction 10. As I approached the scene other drivers had their hazard warning lights flashing.
"I was left there at a total standstill for an hour and I can't imagine how long the tailbacks were.''
A Kent Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision. Lane one was closed for a short while.’’
Paramedics were also sent to the scene and South East Coast Ambulance Service said that one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent out two fire engines, one from the Folkestone station and the other from Ashford.
Firefighters confirmed that nobody was trapped in the crashed cars and they made the scene safe.
