Ashford’s MP exchanged politics for pizza when he visited Sainsbury’s to experience what happens on the other side of the food counters.
Damian Green spent an afternoon at the store in Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford, helping staff on the fresh fish, meat and pizza delis.
Of the experience, he said: “I made up a ham, peppers and sweetcorn pizza, and if I do say so myself, it didn’t taste bad!
“The main difference is that the real staff can do this in less than a couple of minutes, and in the run up to programmes like X Factor there is a huge demand, so you need to get everything right first time.
“I’m not sure I could have coped at 6.30pm on a Saturday!”
