Car crash on A259 Rye closes road into Kent, affecting Ashford traffic

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash that has closed a major road between Kent and Sussex.
The collision on the A259 at East Guldeford has left the route closed in both directions for hours, affecting traffic between Rye and Ashford.
The incident - which is reported to involve a car and a motorbike - happened at about 1.15pm.
Sussex Police said on Twitter: "Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek other routes. We will provide further updates in due course."
Traffic is currently being diverted away from the A259.
Westbound traffic is asked to follow signs bearing a solid triangle symbol, and eastbound traffic to follow signs bearing a hollow diamond.
