Neil Cugley awaits news on Folkestone Invicta's playing budget

Neil Cugley is waiting for news on next season’s playing budget so he can build a team to challenge for honours back in Ryman League Division 1 South.
The Folkestone Invicta boss (pictured) wants to strengthen after last season’s relegation from the Premier Division but knows that time is critical at this stage of the summer.
Cugley said: "I have to speak to the chairman and try and get a budget for next season and that’s got to be sooner rather than later.
"I am fairly positive that most of the lads want to stay on but you don’t want it to drag on because players want to know what’s going on.
"Hopefully the club will show their ambition. What we achieved the season before last (with promotion) was unbelievable but we can’t live on that, we need to freshen things up and last year showed up some of our frailties.
"Defensively, as the previous year, I couldn’t knock the team but in the attacking midfield and forward areas, we will be looking to do better.
"There won’t be loads of changes but it is an area we will be looking to improve. The trouble is that when you are left waiting, the options get less and less.
"Once we are sorted with the budget, we can kick on. It’s an important time for managers because as soon as the season ends, the following few weeks are when people like to get things sorted and then go away on holiday."
