A Nepalese man has admitted two charges relating to the town centre attack which left two people with serious injuries.

Hitendra Limbu, 21, of Quantock Drive, pleaded guilty to intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding when he appeared before Canterbury Crown Court.

Represented by Simon Taylor, Limbu faces a third charge of being in possession of an offensive weapon - a 24cm kukri knife - which will be considered at a later date.

The charges relate to a bloody attack in Ashford High Street in the early hours of Tuesday, April 16.

The incident left Iceland worker Charlie Carolan, 19, with a huge gash through the cartilage in his nose, as well as cuts to his arm, chest and back.

Ashley Curtis, 18, suffered a serious injury to his thumb, which required reconstructive surgery at East Grinstead Hospital in Sussex.

Limbu was remanded in custody last Friday and the case was adjourned for sentencing to July 26.
