Elwick Place car park to open in Ashford on same day as six-screen Picturehouse cinema

A new car park in a town centre opens tomorrow.
The opening of Elwick Place car park will coincide with the arrival of the six-screen Picturehouse cinema in Ashford.
Charges start at £2.20 for up to two hours in the 282-space site, which features 14 disabled bays and four electric vehicle charging point bays.
Cllr Graham Galpin, portfolio holder for the town centre, said: “The new Elwick Place car park is an important addition to the town centre.
"It’s conveniently placed for visits to the new Picturehouse cinema, which also opens on Saturday, yet allows shoppers easy access to the town centre so that they can undertake their shopping with ease.”
Ticket machines will accept payments by cash, cards or Parkmobile.
The charging period is 24 hours, with charges as follows:
- Stepped charges 9am to 4pm:
- £2.20 for up to 2 hours
- £3.30 for up to 3 hours
- £4.40 for up to 4 hours
- £5.50 for up to 5 hours
- £11 for more than 5 hours
- Charges 4pm to 9am the following morning:
- £1 flat rate
No parking is available for coaches or HGVs.
