The foundations of a new roundabout which will connect the A2070 with junction 10a in Ashford are starting to appear.

Highways bosses reduced Bad Munstereifel Road to one lane in both directions earlier this year to allow contractors to install the roundabout close to Sevington church.

The junction will connect the dual carriageway with a new two-way link link road leading the new M20 junction, which is due to open to traffic in autumn 2019.

Construction of junction 10a finally began in January after transport secretary Chris Grayling gave the green light, and the works are due to end in May 2020.

The 50mph limit will remain in place on the M20 until construction of the junction is completed in 2020.

In June, the Church Road footbridge over the A2070 was knocked down to make way for the scheme.
