An arts and crafts superstore has confirmed plans to open a new store in Ashford.

Hobbycraft, which already has branches in Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells, will open its doors in May.

A spokesman for the chain said the new shop will create 20 jobs and recruiters have already received over 200 applications.

He said: "We’re just working on the final details, so we don’t have a confirmed opening date as yet.

"We have, however, started the recruitment process with a great response so far."

There has been some speculation that Hobbycraft could move into one of the warehouses in Sevington, but the spokesman could not confirm where the new store will be.
