The incident happened in Ashford on May 15 but the appeal was issued today after reviewing forensic evidence and CCTV in the area.

He was reportedly walking through the alleway from Elwick Road which runs through Victoria Park to Jemmett Road.

A police spokesman said: "The victim told police he first noticed two men sitting on concrete bollards, opposite the entrance to a road bridge from Elwick Road at around 3.30am.

"It is alleged they approached him and offered him drugs and after the victim refused he was chased and pushed to the ground."

The victim was then said to have been "struck several times" before the suspects made off with his phone and Hugo Boss watch.

He suffered a split lip and some other minor injuries.

The men are described as being white and possibly Eastern European. They were of medium height, slim build and wore dark clothing.
