PARALYMPIANS Danny Oates and Noel Thatcher and local deaf athlete Candy Hawkins will be supporting the Festival of Motability and Sport on Saturday.

The event is being held at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford from 10.15am.

It will be packed with information and advice on motability equipment, transport and motoring, plus numerous sporting taster sessions and demonstrations.

The festival is designed to give families the chance to get new ideas on all aspects of independant living, test an extensive range of products and enjoy a family day out.

It is aimed at anyone with an impairment, young or old, friends and families, carers and healthcare professionals.

Admission is free and the sports will include cycling, a game of football by the local Invicta Valiants junior side against a team from Thanet, powered wheelchair football, zone hockey, wheelchair fencing, powerlifting, Boccia, athletics and basketball.

There will also be a barbecue, bouncy castle and face painting while the Valiants will be raffling a signed football short from Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the motability section there will be stands for adapted cars, wheelchairs, scooters and lifts.
