Police officers who raided the home of a convicted paedophile discovered a life-size doll dressed in a school uniform.

And pervert Colin Lutman had also stashed seven pairs of children’s knickers and a pleated skirt in his bedroom.

Now the 69-year-old has been sent to jail for 27 months after admitting he had also downloaded real images of explicit photographs of children.

Lutman, of Charing Hill, Charing, had been put under restrictions to prevent him from accessing illegal images.

But the devious offender managed to trawl through pictures on what is dubbed the “dark web”, although police only found 19 on his computer – including three at the worst level – during the raid in October 2015.

Lutman admitted he was addicted to sex images of children and enjoyed using dolls to dress up in schoolgirls’ clothes.

The judge, Recorder Stuart Trimmer QC, told him: “You were found in possession of images of very young children and you know that is forbidden and is a serious crime.

“You have been through the court on numerous occasions and it is clear that you have an addiction to porn images of little children.

“That is an addiction which is corrosive because some people go on and commit other offences against little children because they are not satisfied with simply viewing the images.”

Canterbury Crown Court heard details of how when he was living in Bethersden seven years ago he was convicted of superimposing the heads of two children on adult porn pictures.

Lutman was given a community rehabilitation order for three years and ordered to take part in a sex offender programme.

He had admitted 17 charges of making an indecent photo of a child and 13 of possessing such photos.

He had previously been branded a “dirty old man” by a judge over the behaviour.

The “pseudo” photos had been found at his home in Whiston Avenue, Bethersden.

The original photos of the girls had been taken for innocent reasons.

They were then cut and pasted on to his computer in an indecent way.

Judge Michael Lawson QC told him that he had lusted after the girls “in a disgusting way”.

Lutman later moved to St Michael’s, Tenterden.

After the hearing, an NSPCC spokesman said: “The vile images Lutman had in his possession were photographs of crime scenes. Real children have suffered serious sexual abuse for them to be created and it is right that he has been jailed for his repeated offending.

“More must be done by government and web providers to cut off the supply of these horrific images to prevent people from viewing them in the first place and therefore help prevent children being abused.”
