Ashford: Oliver Sutton of Flyby Photography snaps full moon as Harvest Moon looms
11:11, 05 October 2017
A keen photographer tried out a new lens for the first time - and snapped a stunning shot of the moon.
Oliver Sutton, who lives in Chapel Road, Hothfield, captured the photo at about 10pm last night.
The moon has appeared full for the last few nights and is set to glow orange tonight (Thursday) when the annual Harvest Moon appears.
Mr Sutton, who runs Ashford-based aerial imagery company Flyby Photography, said: "I wanted to try different types of photography as well as drone work.
"I bought the new lens on Wednesday and, as I live opposite Hothfield Common, I just jumped over the stile and snapped away.
"I was pleased with how it came out - it was a very good night to see the moon in full."
The Harvest Moon is the name given to the first full moon that takes place closest to the Autumn equinox.
It will be brightest tonight at about 7.40pm.
