Ashford will get its fourth KFC outlet if plans to build a new restaurant on an industrial estate get the green light.

Bosses at the fast-food giant want to open a unit on Waterbrook Park in Sevington, which is just off the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road.

The site will feature both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as 42 car parking spaces.

A drive-thru service will also be offered, with a large 10-metre steel sign set to be erected at the front of the unit.

Outline planning permission was approved by the council last year, but bosses have now submitted a detailed 'reserved matters' application.

The brownfield site - which is close to the Ashford International Truckstop - is currently vacant, having been previously used to store construction material.

Bosses say drivers will access the site from the roundabout connecting Waterbrook Avenue to Arrowhead Road.

Standard KFC rubbish bins are set to be installed for the "safe disposal of packaging".

Finger lickin' chicken lovers already have three KFC sites to choose from in Ashford - in the Lower High Street, Beaver Road and on the Eureka Leisure Park.

As the Covid-19 lockdown was eased, huge queues formed on the Eureka estate as KFC reopened, forcing bus operator Stagecoach to stop serving the estate.
