Emergency services were called to a Sainsbury’s car park after concerns were raised about a woman’s welfare.
Two police vehicles were spotted at the entrance to the supermarket in Ashford.
Several officers were seen at the Warren Retail Park site in Simone Weil Avenue at about 8pm on Friday.
The cars were parked between a silver vehicle at a pedestrian crossing close to the Eureka Skyway footbridge over the M20.
A spokesman for the force has since explained: "We were called to Simone Weil Avenue following concern for a woman in the area.
"Officers attended and the woman was located and taken home."
The incident sparked a significant response from shoppers in the area.
Speaking online, one person said: "I saw both police cars looking for someone in the car park.”
