Police called to Ashford Rugby Club following sighting of suspected criminal

Police were called to a sports club to arrest a suspected criminal, wanted in connection with several crimes.
Officers went to Ashford Rugby Club at around 3.55pm on Sunday, April 23 following a sighting of a man wanted in connection with a number of offences.
Around six police cars were reportedly seen in the area surrounding the rugby club.
Police confirmed that they had not previously issued an appeal in relation to the man.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of a knife and assault.
He was held in custody on Monday but has now been released pending further enquiries.
