A driver is understood to have abandoned a car after crashing into a lamp post in South Ashford last night.
Police are now investigating the incident, which saw a car flip on its roof after colliding with a lamp post.
The incident took place in Beaver Lane, near the junction with Cross Stile, at around 10.25pm.
However, when officers attended the crash site, they discovered the car was empty.
Fire crews were also called to the scene to deal with fuel that had leaked in the road.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “The car is registered to an Ashford man but it’s not known at this stage whether he was driving at the time of the incident or whether someone else took or borrowed the car.
“Our enquiries are continuing."
