Police have appealed for witnesses after a pensioner was targeted by distraction burglars.
Officers were called to Osborne Road in the Willesborough area of Ashford after the elderly woman reported that a man had knocked at the door and claimed he had kicked a football into the back garden.
She went with the man to the garden, but he left without finding the ball, and when she returned into the house she found jewellery and cash had gone.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Tuesday, October 10, and residents have been urged to look out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours.
Their advice says residents should always make sure all doors and windows are locked when answering the door.
Residents should also check the identification of cold callers and not be afraid to turn people away.
