Ashford: Horses seized from field in Kingsnorth by police
08:05, 31 July 2018
Eight horses have been seized from a field in Kingsnorth.
Police say they were contacted in the early hours last weekend following reports the horses from the field were running loose along Ashford Road.
Amid road safety concerns, officers seized the majority of horses but at least two were left behind.
Residents and animal rescue workers have previously raised concerns over the welfare of the horses.
Incidents included one horse cutting its face and leg on barbed wire.
Police say they have received many calls about the horses straying onto the busy Ashford Road in recent weeks.
The horses have now been moved to a place of safety and inquiries are ongoing to identify the owners of the horses and arrange collection.
