PC Stephen Hughes faces trial on misconduct charges

A Kent police officer is to stand trial on five charges of misconduct in judicial or public office.
Stephen Hughes, of Fairfax Close, Folkestone, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.
The 32-year-old PC is accused of making inappropriate contact with crime victims Zoe Webster and Emma Noakes, misuse of the police computer involving Danielle Smith, making inappropriate contact with Sylvie Sivalova by using the computer and failing to investigate a reported serious sexual offence and making inappropriate contact with a woman to view her records.
The offences are alleged to have been committed between March 16 and June 8 last year.
Judge Jeremy Carey set November 25 as the date for the two-week trial. Conditional bail was continued.
