An ice-rink could finally be coming to Ashford if plans to overhaul a popular park are given the go-ahead.
Ashford Borough Council (ABC) have produced a draft masterplan for Victoria Park that includes segway hire, a wildlife garden and new play areas.
The plans, which would cost more than £1 million, also include an open space that could be used for a temporary outdoor cinema, ice rink, fairs or outdoor activities such as archery.
Cllr Jessamy Blanford, portfolio holder for culture and the environment, said: "I am confident that by developing these proposals we will create desirable and active communities, higher standards of public space, alongside improved standards of presentation for our key municipal park."
The £1.6 million scheme would be funded by a combination of lottery grants and section 106 funding, which includes a £758,000 refurbishment of the Hubert Fountain.
Councillors will discuss the draft masterplan for Victoria Park and Watercress Fields at a Cabinet meeting next Thursday.
The site was first put forward for restoration in 2014 after a survey found it to be "surrounded by poor quality paving, degraded picnic seating and some planting which detracts from its setting."
The concept masterplan claims to focus on heritage, sport and recreation, adventure and riverside conservation.
The long list of exciting new features even includes a dog gym, adventure park, bike park, woodland trails and much more.
If the scheme is given the green light, work is likely to begin in March 2018, in a bid to welcome the first visitors in September 2019.
