Workers at a Kent County Council depot are self-isolating after a Covid-19 case was confirmed.
The Ashford KCC Highways depot in Javelin Way continues to operate despite the positive test meaning 17 staff were sent home.
A Kent County Council spokesman said: “One of our maintenance contractors employees has tested positive for Covid-19 and, in accordance with government guidelines, a further 16 people who had been in contact are self isolating.
“The Ashford highways depot remains open for staff that require access, though the majority continue to work from home.
“Highway work continues to take place with support from other depots and sub-contractors.”
The hub is situated close to the M20, where contraflow systems are being put in place ahead of the Brexit deadline of January 1.
