The future of a railway maintenance depot is now uncertain, with the last contract at the site coming to an end.
Bombardier employ 60 people at their depot in Chart Leacon, Ashford, working on maintenance of Southeastern’s Electrostar fleet of trains.
The contract is due to end in March, and no replacement work has yet been found for the site.
But the French-firm hopes that the affected employees can stay in work by transferring to Southeastern (SE) under employment law.
