Workmen operating giant crane are raising the roof of a petrol station to allow lorries to stop for fuel.
They arrived on Saturday to the Jet garage at Hythe Road in the Willesborough area of Ashford to start the work.
The roof is being lifted a metre higher to allow larger vehicles to pull up for fuel, and it will also make it easier for the station to take deliveries.
It has caused traffic queues in Hythe Road as there are temporary traffic lights in place at the junction with Essella Road and Mabledon Avenue.
The work is expected to be completed by Friday, January 20.
