Dashcam footage shows the moment a van driver put other road users’ lives at risk.
The clip shows a white Vauxhall Vivaro travelling at speed into oncoming traffic before veering into the correct lane, narrowly escaping a head on crash with a truck.
The drama unfolded on the A2070 towards Romney Marsh at 4pm yesterday near the Brenzett Green junction.
After overtaking the driver who supplied the footage, the van swings to the opposite side of a central reservation.
The van driver appears to attempt to overtake a black car and HGV but slams on the brakes and pulls into the correct lane seconds before an imminent head-on smash.
It seemingly forces the driver of the black car to brake heavily.
The motorist who supplied the footage said: “People are too impatient.
“I know there are a lot of HGVs that use the A2070 doing 50mph, but there are safe and legal stretches to get past.
“I would advise them to think of their family, and other road users' families before taking a chance.
“That situation could have ended up very different for at least three families, the van drivers included.”
The road, which has a 60 miles per hour speed limit for the most part, is a main thoroughfare between Brenzett and Ashford.
Police have been contacted for comment.
