Road chiefs left red-faced after spelling blunders were spotted on four roadworks signs in Bank Street in Ashford town centre

A series of embarrassing spelling errors have been spotted on roadworks signs in Bank Street, Ashford.
At least four misspelt words have been pointed out on the yellow signs, which have been put up as work finally begins on the Flume artwork.
The signs have been directing "pedestrains" to follow "temporaary" "diverson"s around the town.
The works are part of Kent County Council's plan to repair the broken and cracked paving slabs in Bank Street and in parts of Tufton Street.
As part of the maintenance, most of the Flume artwork, which cost £100,000, will be removed.
The work started yesterday and is expected to last up until the end of October.
Kent County Council, which is carrying out the repairs, hopes the new surface will "improve the image of Ashford town centre and minimise maintenance requirements going forward".
