Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis won the Must See Moment of the year at tonight's BAFTA TV awards.
The former Ashford school girl, who is deaf, danced in silence with partner Giovanni Pernice during a performance on the hit show, raising awareness of what it was like for Rose to not hear the music.
Tonight the couple took to the stage at the award show after winning the prize for the special moment, and told the audience that they wanted the dance to highlight how powerful TV can be.
Rose said she was proud of the dance and thanked everyone for voting for them.
The Must See Moment beat other memorable performances from the last 12 months, including scenes from It's a Sin, RuPaul's Drag Race, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and An Audience with Adele.
Earlier this year, the actress Rose was named the third most influential person in television by the Radio Times.
The former John Wallis Academy pupil, who grew up in Hythe, was recognised after she made history by becoming the first deaf person to win Strictly Come Dancing.
She is also known for playing Frankie Lewis, the daughter of Danny Dyer’s character, in EastEnders.
Before her role in EastEnders, Rose performed in several stage productions, including Mother Courage at the Royal Exchange, Faith, Hope And Charity R&D at the National Theatre and Herons Workshop at the Lyric in Hammersmith.
Tonight, Rose also appeared on Cbeebies Bedtime Story and signed a story using British Sign Language (BSL).
