Police officers in Ashford have compared a drink driver to Forrest Gump after he tried to flee them on foot.
The 41-year-old man abandoned his car in the middle of the Singleton Road and made a break for it.
But the officers eventually tracked him down and arrested him on suspicion of drink driving - at which point they discovered he was also uninsured.
The man's attempted getaway led police to compare his running efforts to that of Forrest Gump in Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning movie.
Police had been patrolling The Street in Ashford just after midnight on Wednesday when they first spotted the uninsured vehicle.
Kent Police Ashford tweeted: “An uninsured driver, who also happened to be a drink driver, decided to go for a run and leave his car in the middle of the road to try and evade #Ashford Officers, quite likely with a guilty conscience!
“Driver arrested and on his way to custody! #RunForrestRun”
