Childline founder Esther Rantzen slams plans by Towers School in Ashford for pupils to share unisex toilets

Plans that could see Ashford teenagers sharing the same school toilets have been unveiled.
The Towers School and Sixth Form Centre is proposing to introduce two unisex blocks at the school in Faversham Road.
It is understood that designs for the shared loos have appeared on a notice board in the school.
Although the plans are believed to still be in a state of consultation, children's campaigner and Childline founder Esther Rantzen has slammed the proposal.
"These children are at an age when they are extremely self-conscious and aware of their bodies and the changes they experience," she told a national newspaper.
She added: "It's an extremely delicate time for them and one would hope that a school would seek to make them as comfortable as possible.
"This is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard and I suggest the school rethinks its proposal."
A Towers School spokesman said: "It is an idea that is being considered, but it is not into the planning stage yet, let alone into parental consultation."
