Child hit by car in Hythe Road, Ashford

A child has been injured after being hit by a car on the way to school.
The young girl was taken to hospital after being struck by the vehicle in Willesborough, Ashford, this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Hythe Road just after 8am.
Police officers and paramedics attended the incident near the junction with Waterside, which caused traffic to back up considerably on the approach to Albemarle Road.
The victim was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, but thankfully her injuries are not believed to be serious.
A police spokesman said: "We received a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at 8.09am this morning.
"Officers attended the scene in Hythe Road, Ashford with the ambulance service.
"A girl reported injuries not believed to be serious and was taken to a local hospital.
"The road was clear by about 9am."
