A second incident on the M20 is adding to delays hours after a lorry became stuck in the central reservation.
Drivers are caught up in nine-mile queues after highways officials took hours to remove a HGV which became stuck after trying to avoid a broken down car.
The lorry was cleared at 2pm, but a crash in the tailbacks on the London-bound stretch between junctions 8 and 9 is now causing further hold-ups.
Highways England says traffic officers and recovery teams are already on their way to the scene of the crash, which is causing a traffic build-up stretching back to junction 10.
Drivers are being warned of severe congestion.
All roads have now re-opened, however drivers are still warned by KCC Highways to expect large delays to journey times.
