The sound of drums and flutes filled the air when a marching band paraded through Ashford town centre.
Army Reserves from 133 Field Company, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), based in Chart Road, took to Ashford High Street on Saturday.
The reserves, all part time soldiers, met at County Square at 11am. They were joined by Army Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets who all marched proudly through the streets behind, along with the Kent Wing Air Training Corps Cadet Band.
The parade halted briefly at the Bandstand, and was greeted by a spontaneous round of applause from members of the public who had come to show their support.
It was then inspected by Two Brigade deputy commander, Colonel Ingrid Rollond, as well as the Mayor of Ashford Cllr David Smith, and Deputy Lieutenant for Kent, Colonel (retired) Peter Bishop, before recommencing down the lower High Street and dispersing at the First World War tank in New Rents.
