A roundabout on the approach to Ashford town centre has been causing traffic disruption this week.

The roundabout at Mace Lane, by Henwood Industrial Estate and Tesco Express, has been upgraded to display colourful plants and a new stone centrepiece.

The stone work is now complete, shown in photographs taken by resident Andy Clark.

Work on the display began on Tuesday and the large stones have been dubbed by some residents as a 'Stonehenge' lookalike.

Pebbles have been positioned at the base of the stones on the roundabout.

Ashford Borough Council (ABC) hopes it will create an attractive first impression of the town for visitors travelling to Ashford by car along Hythe Road.

ABC said on its Facebook page: “We apologise for any disruption or traffic which may occur, and we will aim to keep this at a minimum."
