Smell leads police to cannabis find in Ashford

A man has been arrested after reports of a strange smell lead police to a cannabis cultivation.

Officers also seized a number of plants after resident's noses tipped them off in Ashford.

More than 25 plants were seized during a raid on an address in Bank Street at 9.30pm on Tuesday.

A 31-year-old man from the Ashford area was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, and has since been released under investigation.

Inspector Jason Atkinson, of Ashford Community Safety Unit, said: "We are determined to shut down and disrupt drug dealing networks at every opportunity.

'If you suspect drugs are being cultivated, produced or dealt in your area, please contact Kent Police on 101, through our website, or 999 if a crime is in progress."
