When they arrived at the car park at the Wye Nature Reserve near the Devil's Kneading Trough in Coldharbour Lane they found the 51 plate car was already burned out and nobody around.

A spokesman for Ashford fire station said: "That's what made us believe it had been dumped or stolen.

"It was completely burned out by the time we got there."

But they did say the number plate was still in one piece giving them hope they would be able to track down the owners.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are treating the fire as suspicious and inquiries are ongoing."
