A teenage boy has been hurt following a smash in Faversham Road, in Ashford, this morning

A teenager has been hurt after a crash with a car in Ashford this morning.

Police and ambulance were called to the junction of Faversham Road and Trinity Road, in Kennington, at 7.50am.

It was reported that a 13-year-old boy was crossing the traffic lights when he was hit by a car.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance was called to the scene and assessed the boy in the road.

The victim is believed to have suffered a broken leg. He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital by land ambulance.

Drivers experienced long delays in the Kennington area after Faversham Road was closed.

Traffic was re-directed down Sandyhurst Lane. The road was opened again at 9.13am.
