A 16-year-old who tried to make off with a phone was 'bundled' by security staff yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
The teenager was detained by the County Square security team around 4.30pm after the attempted theft at Carphone Warehouse, in Ashford.
One onlooker said: "He tried to do a runner with the phone but was bundled by store staff and County Square security."
A police spokesman confirmed they had been called to a report of shoplifting from a mobile phone store.
He added: "A 16 year-old boy had been detained. The property was recovered and the incident dealt with by community resolution."
Community resolution is also known as restorative justice and means the teenager was not arrested or charged.
