A teenage referee was allegedly punched in the face by a man following a football match.
An investigation is underway following the incident at Great Chart playing field in Ashford.
The fracas happened after a match between Pilgrims FC and Lydd Town A on Saturday, which Pilgrims won 3-0.
The referee - who is only 16-years-old - was attacked about 15 to 20 minutes after the final whistle.
In a statement, Pilgrims FC said: "The referee in question is only 16 years old, has only completed four senior appointments and has been a very good referee in all the pre-season games he has covered for us.
"I find this absolutely disgusting and this has no place in the game.
"We as a club will ensure that he has all the support he needs to make sure that the individual is held responsible.
