Teenage whiskey thief arrested

A teenager has been arrested for shoplifting after he tried to walk out of a supermarket with 35 bottles of Jack Daniels.
Police officers were called to Tesco at Moatfield Meadow, Park Farm after a 17-year-old tried to steal £800-worth of groceries including multiple bottles of the Tennessee whiskey on Wednesday evening.
The teenager from Hounslow in Middlesex was detained by supermarket staff until he could be arrested by police.
He was charged with theft and has been bailed to appear before Canterbury Magistrates Youth Court on Tuesday, April 2.
