A group of teenagers wreaked havoc at a supermarket last night, smashing windows and breaking a bike rail.
Shoppers at Asda's Ashford branch were met by the loud group at about 9.30pm, with loud bangs being heard as they attacked a bike store next to the entrance.
A window was smashed, at which point one passer-by was threatened after taking pictures.
The 22-year-old said: "There was a gang of about seven youths, running around and shouting.
"I heard a loud bang and suddenly one of the bike shelter's windows shattered. I got my phone out and one of the girls alerted her friends that I was taking pictures.
"One of the boys then kept walking towards me saying 'Did you just take a picture of me? You better not be taking a picture'.
"I went into Asda when a second bang rang out. When I left the shop I saw the bike rail had been knocked out of the ground so I took a couple of pictures, thinking they'd gone.
"From the alleyway alongside Asda, I heard 'Oi, don't move' and they were waiting there on bikes.
"They started rolling towards me so I legged it in the other direction."
An hour later, a second window was shattered - this time in the shop entrance - and another suffered damage.
A police spokeswoman said: "We are investigating a report of criminal damage at Asda in Kimberley Way, Ashford.
"It was reported that at around 9.30pm, damage was caused to a bicycle storage area.
"Further damage was also reportedly caused to the supermarket’s windows around an hour later.
"Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.
"Anyone with information regarding the damage is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/151024/19."
