Teens with weapon try to rob man under railway bridge in Newtown Road in Ashford

A man escaped with all his belongings when a gang of youths tried to rob him, pulling out a weapon.
The victim was approached by four teens as he walked under a railway bridge in Newtown Road, Ashford, between 6.50pm and 7pm yesterday.
Three boys and a girl aged 16 to 18-years-old threatened the victim with a weapon however he was able to get away uninjured and without handing over any items.
No arrests have been made yet.
A police spokesman said: "As part of their ongoing inquiries officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they have information on the incident.
"In particular, they are keen to hear from anyone who saw the youths in the surrounding area before, during or after the incident took place."

Clarification: An earlier version of this article said the incident had happened in an underpass. Kent Police has amended its appeal for information to say the incident happened under a railway bridge in Newtown Road.
