Exciting line-up of artists set to thrill all at the Create Music Festival in Victoria Park, in Jemmett Road, this Sunday

Thousands of people are expected to descend on Ashford’s Victoria Park this Sunday for the Create Music Festival.
The free music event, organised by Ashford Borough Council, kicks off at noon in the Jemmett Road park.
This year’s Create, the 19th, promises to be the best yet, boasting four live music stages, more than 30 artists, plus rides, food vendors and a beer tent.
Headliners include Nizlopi, best known for their 2005 hit The JCB Song, Ashford’s very own The Intermission Project and Coco and the Butterfields.
Event Organiser Chris Dixon said: “The festival just keeps growing and growing, and that is largely due to the amazing support from local sponsors, local companies and local talented artists who want to be involved.
“I know how much this festival means to the town, so we have worked doubly hard to try to make this year’s free event look, feel and sound like one of the major ones”.
As well as the four stages – Create Main Stage, Right Track Music Stage, Revelation Stage and the Canterbury College DJ Stage – the festival will include street theatre, performance poetry, a cycle powered stage, market stalls, face painting, temporary tattoos, rock climbing, and even a place to walk on water.
As for food and drink, there are two beer tents, a hog roast and Mexican and Caribbean treats.
Karen Trimmings, from Revelation St Mary’s said: “We are so excited to host our first ever Revelation Stage at Create. We’ll be bringing an array of performances from some incredibly talented local musicians and spoken word artists from the innovative SpOke ‘n’ Word group.
“We will be relying on you to peddle Wheely Groovy’s bicycles to power our PA for the SpOke ‘n’ Word poetry slams – so come on over, it will be a lot of fun!”
British rock band Toploader will open the festival when they play at St Mary’s Church as part of the Saturday Night Sound Check.
The Dancing in the Moonlight singers will be supported by Pip Bowers and the Family Bones and James Kirby.
The one-off, ticket only event is being sponsored by Su and Chris Bailey, owners of Right Track Music, who said: “We have been involved in Create for many years now, and it gets more exciting every year.
“We are always proud to showcase our young talented musicians in front of the thousands who are drawn to the festival, as well as investing in top name acts such as Toploader to support the festival and the town’s growing cultural profile.”
