Police investigate hoax threatening call to McDonald's at Orbital Park, Ashford

A threatening call to a McDonald's restaurant is being investigated by police.
Officers were called to the fast food chain in The Parade at Orbital Park, Ashford, following a call making threats.
A search of the restaurant was carried out, with police spotted at the scene last night.
The store was not evacuated.
The phone call is being treated as a hoax and is being investigated.
A spokesman for police said: "Kent Police were called to commercial premises in The Parade, Ashford shortly after 7pm following a call making threats.
"Officers attended and a search was carried out of the premises. The phone call is being treated as a hoax and is being investigated."
The McDonald's at Orbital Park is the busiest drive thru in Europe, and second busiest in the world after one in China.
A spokesman for McDonald’s said: “We can confirm that an incident took place at our Ashford, Orbital Park restaurant last night, and our restaurant team made the police aware.
"We are continuing to support the police with their ongoing investigation."
